FDA Now Requires Dense Breast Notification
For the first time in history, the US Food and Drug Administration is requiring “mammography facilities to notify patients about the density of their breasts and on the need for additional screenings to find breast cancer.” This was the direct result of Katie Couric coming forward and demanding the FDA finally act upon legislation passed 4 years ago, the Breast Density Mammography Act in 2019,. which enforces mammography quality overseen by the FDA and, thus, early detection of breast cancer.
